AI Halloween Trend 2026: This Year’s Viral Looks
People are turning selfies into witches, skeletons, haunted mascots and flash-photo horror. Here are the looks going around this October, rebuilt as original presets you can run on your own photo.

Put yourself in a Halloween AI look
Upload one clear photo of yourself (18+), or of your own pet. Couple looks also take one photo of a second adult who appears with you and has agreed. A sharp, evenly lit, front-facing photo keeps your face the most stable.

The AI keeps your face recognizable and changes hair, outfit, makeup and scene. Hands, small accessories and your look can vary, so review the portrait before you share it. If the photo cannot be used, the credit is returned.
We keep your photo only while the image is made and delete it when the image is ready or the job fails. Your portrait stays downloadable for 14 days; deleting it or your account removes it sooner. The photo is sent to Google’s Nano Banana 2 image model through our AI provider, only to make your image. Privacy policy
Failed or blocked generations return the credit.

If you searched for the ai halloween trend, you probably want to know what people are making right now. This October, short-video feeds have been filling up with AI Halloween trend posts: selfies turned into witches, pets in costumes and glossy horror snapshots. This page groups those styles, matches each one to the closest of our own looks, and walks you through trying one on your own photo. Halloween AI is an AI Halloween generator for photos. You upload one picture, pick a look, and get back one vertical 3:4 PNG.

The AI Halloween trend styles people are sharing
Creators on TikTok and community reports describe a few styles that keep coming back. The list below describes the mood of each style. It is not a ranking, and it does not measure how many people made any of them.
- Witch and vampire transformations, where a filter turns a selfie into a witch, a spider queen or a vampire.
- Makeup-first looks, where the face paint changes and the rest of the photo stays close to the original.
- Pet filters that dress a dog or cat in a Halloween outfit.
- Dark storybook portraits with pale skin, gothic settings and a slow, stop-motion feel.
- Y2K flash horror selfies, with harsh camera light, a 90s bedroom and a little dread.
- Short clips of fog, candle flicker and ghostly shapes, built from a still image.
- Upload-a-selfie routines, where people paste a Halloween prompt into a chatbot such as ChatGPT or Gemini and share the result.
Most of these trends start from one selfie or one pet photo, which is also all that Halloween AI needs. The question is which look fits the trend you have in mind.
How our looks line up with each trend
Several of the styles above have a close match in our set of 13 looks. The table shows the closest one for each ai halloween trend style and what to check in the result.
| Trend style | Our closest look | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Witch transformations | Forest Witch: moss cloak, ivy-wrapped pointed hat, glowing crystal pendant | The hat can cover part of your hair, so check that the face still looks like you |
| Vampire transformations | Velvet Vampire: high-collar black velvet coat with a red lining and dark red lips | Fangs are not shown in this look, so do not expect them |
| Makeup-first looks | Sugar Skull Glam: skull face paint that follows the bones of the face | Check that the eyes and nose still match your original under the paint |
| Pet filters | Pumpkin Pet or Glow Dino Pet, both built for pets | Pumpkin Pet keeps the eyes clear, and in Glow Dino Pet the hood frames the whole face |
| Dark storybook portraits | Midnight Braids: long violet braids, a black-and-purple velvet gown, a moonlit garden | Check the braids and the small silver hair pieces, which are easy to get wrong |
| Y2K flash horror selfies | Y2K Horror Night: 90s bedroom, flip phone and lava lamp | Check the hands on the flip phone, which is one of the most common places for errors |
Two of the ai halloween trend styles have no direct match. None of our 13 looks is a spider, so spider queen transformations are not covered. Short animated clips are not covered either, because Halloween AI does not offer video yet. It makes still images only.
If you are looking for a halloween ai trend to copy, start with the row closest to the post you liked, then compare the result with the original before you share it.
What makes our looks original
Our 13 looks are original presets written for this tool. Each one takes inspiration from a broad style, such as gothic, creepy, sci-fi, Y2K or pet costumes, but none of them copies a film, a game, a creator or a costume brand. Halloween AI has no link to any of those. We do not generate named characters, and we do not put logos or watermarks into a result.

Each look is a written prompt with three parts: a line that tells the model to keep your face and anatomy, a description of the costume and setting, and a list of things to avoid, such as altered identity, extra limbs and text. The prompts page shows the full prompt for each look, so you can see exactly what a look asks the model to do.
The image step uses Google's Nano Banana 2 image model (model ID gemini-3.1-flash-image-preview), reached through an API provider. If you want to understand how Google's image generation works in general, read the Gemini API image generation docs.
Try an ai halloween trend on your own photo, step by step
Start with a clear photo of yourself (18+) or of your own pet. A couple look also takes one photo of a second adult who appears in the portrait with you and has agreed to it. You must be one of the two people. Public figures, celebrities, minors and anyone who has not agreed are never allowed, including parody and fan edits.
- Pick the photo. Use a sharp, well-lit picture where the face is visible and not turned away. A selfie or a clear portrait of a pet works well.
- Sign in with your Google account, then choose the look that matches the ai halloween trend you saw in the table above. If you want outfit ideas on top of that, the AI Halloween costume generator covers the same flow with a costume focus.
- Upload the photo and generate. Each image costs one credit and comes back as one 3:4 PNG. A single image usually finishes in 30 to 60 seconds, and you can have up to two generations running at once.
- Compare the result with your original. Check the face first, then the hands, the small accessories and anything the hood or hat covers.
- If something is wrong, run the look again or try a different look. Every new try uses another credit, so check the result carefully before you run it again.
- Download the PNG. Your uploaded photo is deleted as soon as the image is generated or the attempt fails, and the finished PNG stays downloadable for 14 days, so save your own copy.
Post your result responsibly and check the details
Our own test ran each of the 13 looks once. It used a fictional, AI-generated selfie of a woman, a golden retriever, and a pair of fictional selfies for the couple look. Results were compared by eye. That is a small sample, and your results will change with your photo.
| Weak spot | Where it shows up | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Hands and small props | Hands, cups, phones and other handheld items are where AI most often goes wrong | Zoom in on the hands before you post, and run the look again if the fingers look off |
| Hoods and hats | Haunted Unicorn Mascot and Forest Witch can cover part of your hair | Make sure the face still looks like the person or pet in your photo |
| Faint glow | The green glow in Backrooms Glow is subtle | Do not expect strong neon light, because this look is quiet by design |
When you share a result from any ai halloween trend, say that it is AI-generated, either in the caption or on the image itself. Do not present it as an untouched photo or as a real photoshoot. Only post pictures of people who have agreed to it, and never use the result to pretend someone said or did something, to harass anyone or to mislead. Pet photos are fine to share, but the caption should still say that the costume was made with AI.
Credits and pricing for trying a look
Trying an ai halloween trend look does not require a subscription. Credits come in one-time packs. Each credit makes one image, and a couple look uses two photos but still costs one credit. Credits never expire.
| Pack | Credits | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Trick | 5 | $4.99 |
| Treat | 15 | $9.99 |
| Coven | 40 | $19.99 |
Payments are handled by Dodo Payments and Waffo Pancake. If a generation fails or is blocked by the safety review, the credit goes back to your balance. That is a credit return, not a cash refund. See the pricing page for the current details.
